Abstract
The massacre of up to 200,000 of their Jewish countrymen by Lithuanian militias, before Nazi Germany's invasion in 1941, is well documented. However, it is now at the centre of a campaign by far-right activists to rewrite history, with the conservative Lithuanian government attempting to erase this inconvenient truth. This programme follows the efforts of Australian academic, Danny Ben-Moshe, and an American Professor of Yiddish, Dovid Katz, to battle this rising tide of ultra-nationalism.
